 CANTORIAL SOLOIST MARGARET SCHMITT

Margaret Schmitt holds a BA in Music from Queens College, CUNY. She also studied at the Juilliard and Mannes Schools of Music in New York City, and at Amherst College in Massachusetts. She studied contemporary liturgical music at the RSCM in Carlisle, England, and has extensive experience in liturgical music.

Miss Schmitt was soloist with Cantor Abraham Wolkin in New York City and Liberty, New York for 7 years. In Florida, she has sung at Temple Israel, West Palm Beach and Temple Emanuel, Palm Beach. She served as cantorial assistant at Temple Sinai, Delray Beach from 2002 to 2007, and then as Cantorial Soloist from 2007 through 2019

Miss Schmitt is well-known as a classical soprano. She has appeared in opera, musical theatre and in concert throughout the US and in Europe. She appeared at both Lincoln and Kennedy centers, and on live national television. She was the owner of Serenade Productions, and produced musical shows in countless locations in Florida. She was Artistic Director of Opera Benvenuto, Opera at Brooks and Opera Night at Capri Blu, and has also conducted several choirs in both sacred and popular repertoire.
